Orlando Cabrera Has Words For Yankee Fans

Orlando Cabrera has some strong feelings about the fans at Yankee stadium. Suffice it to say, Cabrera does not feel they are good baseball fans.

“They don’t appreciate good baseball. They just appreciate the Yankees beating up on everybody. In Boston, they admire baseball. In Anaheim, those fans are some of the best in baseball. They know you care there. They know you can’t do it every day. I appreciate that.

It’s nice to see an actual major league player articulate what everybody else already thinks. Cabrera had even more to say.

“These people here, they’re mean. And they’re really mean to the other team. When we came here last year, they were in first place, so it was OK. Now they’re just looking for an excuse. When people say [stuff], they only motivate me. They’re bad losers.”

When you win for 12 straight years (well, except the last 6 post-seasons), you’re bound to be bad losers. Of course Yankee fans will just dismiss Cabrera’s remarks as trivial comments from somebody who is jealous of their winning tradition. By the way, here is the tally of World Series victories in the last 5 years. Orlando Cabera 1, Yankees 0.
