Lou Piniella Is Getting Scruffy
With the Cubs in the thick of a playoff race, nothing is escaping the attention of their fans. Even Lou Piniella’s Brett Favre-like stubble is causing a stir. This weekend Piniella was finally forced to address his whiskers and he wants everyone to know he’s not growing a beard.
“There’s nothing to read into this thing. Believe me. Absolutely nothing. I can’t remember the last time I shaved. But I don’t like beards, so I’m not going into a beard…this will come off — it’s just a matter of when. I’d rather go to a barber shop or go to somebody who could just shave me. I like that. Nice and relaxing — it’s a face massage.”
Looks like we can close the book on the Piniella beard mystery. Now Cubs fans can go back to important things like figuring out to sneak weight loss pills into Carlos Zambrano’s food.
